Automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitors are included as part of a Basic Autopilot suite. Tesla now divides its driver-assistance technology, which many may see through a safety lens, into three levels. Within a couple of hours you’ll be comfortable with it-although some will miss Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The screen is so sharp menus are flat and with streaming entertainment it all responds without lag. A 17.0-inch touchscreen forms the hub for nearly everything, with steering-wheel toggles for some fine-adjustment items. The look remains austere, and there’s still the option for five-, six-, or seven-passenger layouts, but there’s a minimalist interface throughout.
